Great job on your blog post Kate! You brought a better understanding of this projects to students, and people who never have done this, and to people whom had knowledge in this. I wrote my letter to Mr. Naomi Shihab Nye, who wrote the poem, “How do I know when a poem is finished?” I asked her many questions regarding her poem and also about writing and improving it. I think you should incorporate some of that information is you do a similar blog in the future. Will the poet write back? That is one question that I have been curious about during and after the assignment is/was used. Overall, I feel that you have made a great blog, which I have question about. I hope you can get back to me soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, this was a great post. It was detailed and easy to understand. I already read some of Naomi Shihab Nye's poems before this project and I still enjoy them. It would the coolest thing is she replies!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Amol, isn't Naomi Shihab Nye a Mrs.? Not a Mr.? Just saying!
I agree with the students interviewed, this was a really neat thing to do and maybe hearing back from them will help us with our own poetry. I really hope that these great poets can get a chance to respond back to some of our letters. Great job on this blog post Kate!
ReplyDeleteI feel like this post was well done. It went into detail about the event, and you even provided an example of one poet you could've sent a letter to. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI also sent a letter to Naomi Shihab Nye concerning her poem "How do You Know When a Poem is Finished." In my letter, I discussed some of the metaphorical meanings I thought were in the words, and asked questions concerning her as a writer. The event overall was pretty memorable, and this blog post would easily explain the event to anyone who didn't participate.
